Bio Panjaphakdee

Undergraduate Reasearcher (Sophomore in Biochemistry, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign)

Bio is a Biochemistry sophomore at the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, minoring in Bioengineering and Business. She expects to graduate in May 2027 and plans to pursue a Ph.D. after gaining industry experience.

Current Research

Bio is exploring the field of RNA post-transcriptional regulation. She is currently working with Subhashis on a project investigating how intron retention (IR) influences cardiac maturation and development in a Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 (DM1) mouse model. Her previous research focused on protein expression, purification, and characterization in yeast.

Outside the lab

Outside the lab, Bio enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. She has a passion for music and photography and is an active member of the Thai Student Association at UIUC, where she helps organize events and coordinate collaborations with external partners.
