Olivia Zaleski

Ph.D. Student (Department of Biochemistry)

Olivia completed her B.A. in Biochemistry at The Ohio State University in 2023. After graduation, she worked as a research technician in Dr. Bei Liu’s lab for two years before joining the Kalsotra lab in 2025.

Current Research

Olivia’s research will investigate post-transcriptional regulation in heart development and cardiomyopathy. Her current work focuses on developing splice-switching antisense oligonucleotides (SSOs) with enhanced myocardial uptake to selectively redirect endogenous RNA processing in cardiomyocytes.

Outside the lab

Outside of the lab, Olivia enjoys spending time with friends, baking, and going to the farmers market.
