Pouya is attended UIUC and studied Molecular and Cellular biology. He plans to attend medical school and obtain his M.D degree.

Current Research

Pouya along with his graduate student, investigates the Myotonic dystrophy type I (DM1) induced defects in cardiac bioenergetics via alternate splicing events.

Outside the lab

Pouya has a diverse range of hobbies that keep him busy and inspired. In his free time, he loves star gazing, exploring the vast night sky, and discovering constellations and stars. He also enjoys catching meteor showers. By day, he keeps fit through swimming. During the summer he enjoys growing corn and sun flowers!
